Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cowling.
Drain the lower unit gear oil.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) bolts and carefully separate it from the upper driveshaft housing.
Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover.
Remove the old impeller, gasket, wear plate, and key from the driveshaft.
Clean the housing and driveshaft surfaces thoroughly, removing any old gasket material or debris.
Install the new wear plate and shaft key.
Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, rotating it clockwise to bend the vanes correctly as it enters the housing.
Place the new gasket on the housing and secure the cover, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's torque specification.
Re-install the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift shaft align correctly.
Refill the gearcase with fresh oil and re-connect the battery.
Start the engine in a controlled environment (using a "flushing" device) and immediately check for a steady stream of water from the tell-tale outlet.
