Installation Notes

Ensure the engine is off and disconnect the battery. Tilt the engine up.
Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gear case mounting bolts to detach it from the engine.
Locate and unbolt the water pump housing to access the impeller.
Note the orientation of the old impeller fins. Remove the impeller, key, plate, and gaskets.
Clean all surfaces of the housing and plate, checking for corrosion or wear.
Install the new gasket and plate from the kit.
Slide the new key into the driveshaft keyway and install the new impeller, turning the driveshaft clockwise to bend the fins correctly.
Install the new housing gasket and reinstall the housing, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift shaft align correctly.
Once assembled, start the engine in a water supply (using flushing muffs or in water) and verify a steady stream of water from the tell-tale port.
