Installation Notes

Before starting, disconnect the battery and shift linkage.
Remove the lower unit mounting bolts and carefully separate the gearcase from the engine midsection.
Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing, impeller, and wear plate.
Thoroughly clean the driveshaft and housing mounting surfaces, removing all traces of old gasket material.
Install the new gasket, wear plate, and impeller key. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft.
Apply a small amount of marine lubricant to the inside of the new pump housing and install it over the impeller.
Fasten the new housing securely with the provided bolts, tightening them to the torque specified in your service manual.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
Reconnect the linkage and battery, then start the engine in water to confirm a steady stream from the cooling system tell-tale.
