Installation Notes

For a successful installation, follow the torque specifications and sequence outlined in your engine’s official service manual. Below is a general guide:

  1. Disconnect the battery and drain the cooling system completely.
  2. Remove the cylinder head cover and any other components obstructing access to the head bolts.
  3. Loosen the cylinder head bolts in several passes, following the reverse of the tightening sequence specified by the manufacturer.
  4. Carefully lift the cylinder head from the engine block. Avoid using pry tools that could damage the mating surfaces.
  5. Remove the old head gasket. Thoroughly clean all residue from both the engine block and cylinder head surfaces.
  6. Position the new gasket correctly. Ensure it aligns with all bolt holes and passages without the use of sealants unless specified by the manual.
  7. Lower the cylinder head back into place over the dowels.
  8. Install and tighten the head bolts finger-tight. Use a torque wrench to tighten them in the correct sequence and to the manufacturer-specified torque values.
  9. Reinstall all components removed earlier, refill the cooling system, and reconnect the battery.
  10. After starting the engine, check for any coolant, oil, or compression leaks.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this gasket fits my specific Suzuki outboard?

Verify your engine's model, horsepower, and year against the "Engine & Model Compatibility" chart on this page. For 100% certainty, match the OEM part number (11141-98130) listed in your service manual with our cross-reference table.

What are the common signs of a failed cylinder head gasket?

Symptoms of a blown head gasket include engine overheating, a noticeable loss of power, milky or frothy engine oil (indicating coolant contamination), white smoke from the exhaust, and bubbling in the radiator or coolant reservoir.

Do I need to apply a sealant to this gasket during installation?

This gasket is typically designed to be installed dry. Applying sealants can interfere with its ability to seal correctly and may cause premature failure. Always adhere to the procedures in your engine's official service manual.

Can I reuse my old head gasket?

No. Cylinder head gaskets are a one-time-use "crush" type part. Once compressed, they will not provide a reliable seal if reinstalled. Always use a new gasket whenever the cylinder head is removed.

What is the difference between an OEM and an aftermarket part?

This is an aftermarket replacement part, not sourced from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). It is engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications for fit, form, and function, offering comparable performance and reliability. All our parts are produced in an ISO 9002 certified facility and are subject to rigorous quality control.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

We offer fast worldwide shipping, with most orders arriving within 5 to 15 days. Standard shipping is free to most locations. Expedited shipping options and their costs are available at checkout.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against any manufacturing defects under normal operational conditions. Should you encounter a problem, please contact our support team with your order number. Returns are accepted for unused items in their original packaging within our standard return period. Please see our policy page for full details.

Safety & Important Info

  • Before purchasing, carefully verify all images and specifications against your existing part. If there are any discrepancies, do not order, even if your model is listed as compatible.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part.
  • Professional installation is strongly recommended to ensure safety, proper function, and engine longevity.
