Installation Notes

Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Drain the engine oil completely into a suitable container.
Unscrew the mounting bolts holding the oil pan to the engine block. Keep the bolts organized.
Gently tap the oil pan with a rubber mallet to break the seal, then carefully lower and remove it.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces on both the engine block and the oil pan. Remove all traces of old gasket material and oil residue.
Align the new gasket with the mounting holes on the clean oil pan. No sealant is typically required unless specified by the manufacturer.
Position the oil pan and gasket assembly onto the engine block and hand-tighten the bolts.
Using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern to the manufacturer's specified torque to ensure even pressure.
Refill the engine with the correct grade and quantity of new oil. Reconnect the battery.
Start the engine and let it run for several minutes, carefully checking for any signs of oil leakage around the oil pan.
