Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this impeller kit fits my engine?
First, verify your engine's brand, model, and year against our compatibility table. Second, cross-reference your existing part number with those listed in the Part Number Matrix. If both match, the kit will fit.
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Common symptoms include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a water pressure alarm sounding, or a weak or non-existent water stream from the "telltale" outlet port. Visual inspection may reveal cracked, brittle, or broken impeller vanes.
How often should the water pump impeller be replaced?
For preventative maintenance and to avoid engine damage from overheating, most manufacturers recommend replacing the impeller every 100-200 operating hours or at least once per season, whichever comes first.
Is this kit difficult to install by myself?
Installation is a common DIY task for boaters with moderate mechanical skills and the correct tools. It involves removing the lower unit. If you are unsure, referring to a service manual for your specific engine model or hiring a professional marine mechanic is recommended.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9001 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
