Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and shift linkage before beginning work.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard's midsection.
Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing to access the impeller.
Carefully inspect the housing for scoring, warping, or cracks. Replace if damaged.
Remove the old impeller, gasket, and wear plate, noting their orientation.
Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces, removing any old gasket material or sealant.
Apply a light coat of silicone grease, glycerine, or dish soap to the new impeller and inside the pump housing.
Install the new key, gasket, plate, and impeller in the correct sequence.
Reinstall the water pump housing and torque its bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
Re-attach the lower unit, reconnect controls, and test the engine with a reliable water supply.
