Installation Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery cables to prevent accidental starting.
  2. Locate the existing fuel filter and place a rag or container underneath to catch any spilled fuel.
  3. Use fuel line clamps on both sides of the filter to stop fuel flow before disconnecting.
  4. Carefully remove the hose clamps and detach the fuel lines from the old filter, noting the direction of the fuel flow arrow.
  5. Install the new filter, ensuring the arrow points in the correct direction of fuel flow (towards the engine).
  6. Securely reattach the fuel lines and clamps.
  7. Remove the fuel line clamps and reconnect the battery.
  8. Prime the fuel system and start the engine. Check carefully for any leaks around the new filter connections.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this filter fits my specific engine model?

The best way to confirm fitment is to check your engine's model, horsepower, and year against the compatibility tables provided on this page. You can also match the part number from your old filter to the numbers listed in our Part Number Matrix.

What are the signs of a failing or clogged fuel filter?

Common symptoms include engine hesitation or sputtering, difficulty starting, rough idling, stalling at low speeds, and reduced overall engine performance and top speed.

How often should this fuel filter be replaced?

As a general guideline, outboard fuel filters should be replaced every 100 hours of operation or at least once per season, whichever comes first. Always refer to your engine's service manual for the manufacturer's recommended maintenance interval.

What is the difference between this aftermarket filter and an OEM part?

This is an aftermarket replacement part, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) component. It is built to meet or exceed OEM specifications for fit, form, and function, using comparable materials and manufacturing processes in an ISO 9001 certified facility.

Is this filter a direct replacement for Suzuki 15410-87J30?

Yes, this filter is a direct cross-reference and replacement for Suzuki OEM part number 15410-87J30, as well as Johnson/Evinrude 5035974.

How do I find the fuel flow direction?

The fuel filter housing is typically marked with an arrow. This arrow must point in the direction of fuel flow, which is from the fuel tank towards the engine.

What is your shipping speed and cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

What is the warranty and return policy?

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for items that are unused and in their original condition. See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
