Installation Notes

1. Ensure the engine is off and disconnected from the battery and fuel supply.
2. Remove the engine cowling to access the powerhead assembly.
3. Carefully unbolt and separate the powerhead from the midsection/lower unit.
4. Remove the old gasket and thoroughly clean both mating surfaces, ensuring they are free of any old material, sealant, or debris. A plastic scraper can prevent gouging the aluminum surfaces.
5. Position the new gasket, verifying alignment with all bolt holes and passages. Do not use sealant unless specifically recommended by your engine's service manual.
6. Lower the powerhead into place and install mounting bolts. Tighten them in a crisscross pattern to the torque specifications in your service manual to ensure even pressure.
7. Reconnect all electrical connections, fuel lines, and control cables.
8. After reassembly, start the engine and check for any exhaust or water leaks around the gasket seam.
