Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable and shut off the fuel supply.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard. Keep track of all mounting hardware.
Unbolt and lift the water pump housing to expose the old impeller. Note the orientation of the vanes.
Remove the old impeller, key, gaskets, and wear plate.
Clean the interior of the pump housing and inspect it for scoring, cracks, or corrosion. Replace if damaged.
Lightly lubricate the new impeller with marine grease or soapy water.
Install the new wear plate, gasket, and impeller. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise to bend the vanes correctly as you slide the impeller down.
