Installation Notes
- Shift the outboard into neutral. Disconnect the battery and lower unit shift linkage.
- Remove the lower unit mounting bolts and carefully drop the gearcase assembly.
- Unscrew the water pump housing bolts and remove the housing and old impeller.
- Take note of the old parts' orientation, then remove the wear plate, gasket, and impeller key.
- Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Install the new gasket, wear plate, and impeller key.
- Install the new impeller, turning the driveshaft clockwise to seat the vanes correctly inside the new housing.
- Install the new O-ring/gasket on the housing and bolt it down to the specified torque.
- Re-install the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, water tube, and shift shaft are correctly aligned. Reconnect linkage.
- Before starting the engine, supply water to the lower unit and check for a strong stream from the tell-tale outlet once running.
