Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
- Shift the outboard into neutral and remove the propeller.
- Locate and unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the upper engine housing.
- Carefully lower the gearcase to expose the driveshaft and water pump assembly.
- Remove the bolts securing the water pump housing.
- Slide the housing off and remove the old impeller, gasket, and wear plate.
- Clean all surfaces and install the new gasket, wear plate, and impeller from the kit. Ensure the impeller vanes are oriented correctly.
- Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Guide the lower unit back into place, aligning the driveshaft, and secure it.
- Reinstall the propeller, start the engine in water, and verify a strong water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
