Troubleshooting & FAQ
What if my original skeg is heavily damaged or broken off?
This skeg guard is also a repair solution. It can be installed on a broken skeg as long as at least 2-3 inches of the upper skeg remain for the guard to mount securely to. File any rough edges smooth before installation.
How do I prevent the mounting bolts from coming loose?
We include a packet of Loctite 262, a high-strength thread locker. A small drop on the threads of each bolt before tightening will secure them against engine vibration. This step is critical for a safe, long-lasting installation.
Is the mirror finish just for looks?
While the polished mirror finish looks great, its primary purpose is to provide a smooth surface that reduces drag and resists marine growth and corrosion, adding to the longevity of the 316 stainless steel.
kind_of_driveCan I install this myself, or do I need a mechanic?
This skeg guard is designed for easy, DIY installation that takes about 5 minutes. The kit includes all necessary hardware, a hex key, and instructions. You will only need a drill with a 1/4" bit and a mallet.

How fast is shipping and what does it cost?
We ship worldwide, and orders typically arrive within 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free for most orders, with expedited options available at checkout for an additional fee.

This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal marine use. If you encounter any issues, please contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for unused parts in their original condition. See our full policy page or contact us for instructions.
