Installation Notes

1. Ensure the engine is off and cool. Place a drain pan under the old filter to catch any fuel.
2. Use a suitable filter wrench to loosen and remove the old fuel filter, turning it counter-clockwise.
3. Thoroughly clean the filter mounting base on the engine block. Ensure the sealing surface is free of any old gasket material, dirt, or debris.
4. Lightly lubricate the gasket of the new filter with clean diesel fuel or motor oil.
5. Carefully screw the new filter onto the mounting base by hand until the gasket makes contact.
6. Hand-tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn. Do not use a wrench or overtighten, as this can damage the gasket or filter housing.
7. Prime the fuel system according to your engine manufacturer’s specific instructions to remove any air.
8. Once primed, start the engine and carefully inspect the filter and sealing area for any leaks. If a leak is found, stop the engine immediately and re-check your work.
