Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off and cool. Place a drain pan under the old filter to catch any spilled fuel.
- Using an appropriate filter wrench, turn the old filter counter-clockwise to loosen and remove it.
- Clean the filter mounting base on the engine, making sure the old gasket is removed and the surface is free of dirt.
- Apply a thin film of clean diesel fuel or motor oil to the gasket of the new filter.
- Carefully spin the new filter onto the threaded mount clockwise by hand until the gasket makes contact with the base.
- Tighten the filter an additional three-quarters to one full turn by hand. Do not overtighten.
- Prime the fuel system according to your engine manufacturer's instructions.
- Start the engine and check for leaks around the filter. If leaks are present, stop the engine and re-check the installation.
