Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and completely drain the engine's cooling system.
- Remove components obstructing the cylinder head, such as the manifolds and timing assembly.
- Following the service manual's specified pattern, loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts.
- Carefully lift the cylinder head from the engine block. Avoid using pry tools that could damage the mating surfaces.
- Thoroughly clean all old gasket material and residue from both the cylinder head and engine block surfaces.
- Position the new gasket correctly on the engine block; check for proper alignment with dowel pins.
- Reinstall the cylinder head. Tighten the head bolts in the sequence and to the torque values specified in your engine's service manual.
- Reassemble all previously removed components in the reverse order of their removal.
- Refill the cooling system, reconnect the battery, and start the engine to check for any leaks.
