Installation Notes
- Shut off the engine, let it cool, and close the water intake seacock.
- Remove the screws from the sea water pump cover.
- Carefully remove the cover and the old gasket or O-ring.
- Use impeller pullers or two pairs of pliers to grip the hub and pull the old impeller out. Avoid using screwdrivers, which can damage the housing.
- Clean any debris or old gasket material from the pump housing interior and cover plate.
- Lubricate the inside of the pump housing and the new impeller with water-resistant grease or liquid soap.
- Insert the new impeller, bending the blades in the direction of the pump's normal rotation.
- Install the new gasket or O-ring on the cover plate.
- Reinstall the cover plate and tighten the screws evenly in a crisscross pattern.
- Open the seacock, start the engine, and immediately check for water flow from the exhaust and for any leaks around the pump cover.
