Installation Notes

- Drain the engine oil and remove the oil pan to access the crankshaft.
- Carefully remove the main bearing caps, noting their position and orientation.
- Remove the old bearing shells from the caps and engine block.
- Thoroughly clean the crankshaft journals, bearing saddles, and caps.
- Apply a liberal amount of assembly lube to the new bearing shells.
- Install the new upper bearing shells into the block and the lower shells into the caps.
- Reinstall the main bearing caps in their original positions and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specified sequence and values.
- Re-install the oil pan using a new gasket.
- Refill the engine with fresh oil.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check for oil leaks and proper oil pressure.
