Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this pump fits my engine?
Your primary reference should be the part number. If your current pump has a number listed in our Part Number Matrix, this pump is a compatible replacement. You should also check your engine model against the Compatibility table and visually compare your old pump to our product photos.
What are common signs of a failing raw water pump?
Common symptoms include engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a visible water leak from the pump's weep hole or seams, reduced water flow from the exhaust, and a noisy pump bearing. The flexible impeller inside also wears out and can cause reduced performance.
How often should the impeller be inspected or replaced?
As a general rule, inspect the impeller annually and plan to replace it every one to two seasons, depending on usage, water conditions (sandy/silty water causes faster wear), and manufacturer recommendations. A worn or damaged impeller is the most common cause of pump failure.
Is any special maintenance required after installation?
After installation, check for leaks. Regularly inspect the pump and hoses for signs of wear, corrosion, or leaks. If you operate in freezing temperatures, ensure the pump is properly winterized and drained to prevent cracking.
Do I need to buy the separate three-screw kit (P/N 948324)?
This pump attaches with three Allen head bolts. The note regarding kit P/N 948324 applies only to specific engine applications that may require a different bolt length or type. In most cases, you can reuse your existing hardware if it is in good condition. Check your service manual for confirmation.
What is the difference between an OEM and an aftermarket pump?
This is an aftermarket replacement part, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) component. It is engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications for fit, form, and function, offering a high-quality alternative at a better value. Our parts are made in an ISO 9002 certified facility and undergo rigorous quality control.
What are your shipping speeds and costs?
We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free for most destinations. Expedited shipping options, where available, will be presented at checkout for an additional fee.
What is the warranty and return policy?
This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal marine use. Should an issue arise, contact our support team with your order number. Returns for unused products in their original packaging are accepted within our standard return window. Please see our full policy page or contact us for instructions.
Safety & Important Info
- Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
- This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
- Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
