Installation Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the outboard engine is securely positioned.
  2. Following your engine's service manual, disassemble components to access the crankshaft.
  3. Use a suitable bearing puller to carefully extract the old crankshaft bearing from its housing.
  4. Thoroughly clean the housing and shaft, removing any old lubricant, dirt, or metal shavings.
  5. Apply a thin layer of assembly lube or clean engine oil to the new bearing and its seat.
  6. Using a hydraulic press or a correctly sized bearing driver, press the new bearing in evenly until it is fully seated. Do not use a hammer directly on the bearing.
  7. Reassemble all engine components in the reverse order of disassembly, torquing fasteners to manufacturer specifications.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I identify a failing crankshaft bearing?

Common signs of a worn crankshaft bearing include a deep rumbling or grinding noise from the engine block, increased engine vibration, or the presence of metallic particles in the engine oil. You may also be able to detect excessive side-to-side play in the crankshaft.

Is this bearing for a specific crankshaft position?

Yes, this bearing is specified for position #48 or #51 on most compatible Yamaha engine diagrams. It is critical to consult your specific model's service manual to confirm the exact location and part number before ordering.

What is the difference between part numbers 93311-632U1 and 93311-832U4?

These are official, interchangeable part numbers from Yamaha. Our single aftermarket part is a direct replacement for both, along with other superseded numbers like 93311-63223 and 93311-83219, offering broad compatibility.

Can I install this bearing myself?

This is a press-fit component requiring specialized tools, such as a bearing press and pullers, for proper installation. Incorrect installation can damage the bearing, crankshaft, or engine block. Professional installation is highly recommended for reliability and safety.

Why is my engine model listed but the part looks different?

Manufacturers sometimes make mid-year changes. Always compare the images and specifications of this part to your original component before purchasing. If they do not match exactly, do not install it.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
