Installation Notes

  1. Ensure the engine is off and cool. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Access the camshaft area, removing any components blocking the old seal.
  3. Carefully pry out the old camshaft seal with a seal puller, avoiding scratches to the housing.
  4. Thoroughly clean the seal bore to remove any old sealant, oil, or debris.
  5. Lightly lubricate the outer edge of the new seal with clean engine oil.
  6. Position the new seal squarely into the bore. Use a properly sized driver or socket to gently tap it into place until it is flush.
  7. Reassemble all previously removed components in reverse order.
  8. Reconnect the battery, run the engine, and check for any leaks around the new seal.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if my camshaft seal is failing?

Common signs include visible oil leaks from the front of the engine near the timing belt or chain cover, a burning oil smell, or smoke from the engine bay. A drop in oil level without an obvious cause can also indicate a failing seal.

Can I reuse my old camshaft seal?

No. Oil seals are single-use components. They are designed to deform slightly upon installation to create a tight seal and are often damaged during removal. Always use a new seal for any repair or maintenance.

Is any special sealant required for installation?

Generally, no additional sealant is needed. A light coat of fresh engine oil on the seal's rubber lip and outer diameter is sufficient for lubrication during installation. The press-fit design creates the necessary seal.

Will this fit both the intake and exhaust camshafts?

This seal is typically used for the camshaft position shown in your engine's service manual. Always verify the part number required for your specific application, as some engines may use different seals for intake and exhaust cams.

What is the recommended replacement interval?

There is no fixed replacement interval. Seals should be inspected during major services like timing belt changes and replaced if they show any signs of leaking, cracking, or hardening. Most mechanics recommend replacing them proactively during such services to prevent future leaks.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9001 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
