Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
- Place a drain pan under the lower unit and drain the gearcase oil.
- Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper casing and carefully lower it.
- Locate the water pump housing on top of the gearcase. Remove the bolts securing the housing.
- Slide the housing up and off the driveshaft, exposing the impeller and wear plate.
- Remove the old impeller, key, gaskets, and seals. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Install the new components from the kit in reverse order of removal, ensuring the impeller vanes are oriented correctly.
- Lightly grease the new impeller and insert it into the housing while turning the driveshaft clockwise.
- Re-install the housing, lower unit, and refill with fresh gearcase oil.
- Reconnect the battery and test the engine's cooling system at the dock before heading out.
