Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is tilted to a safe working position.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gearcase drain and vent screws to drain the lubricant.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper casing and carefully lower it.
4. Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing assembly. Note the orientation of all parts.
5. Clean the mounting surfaces and inspect the driveshaft for any wear or damage.
6. Install the new components from the kit in the reverse order of disassembly. Ensure the new impeller vanes are turned in the correct direction (typically clockwise when viewed from above).
7. Lubricate the new impeller and internal housing surfaces with a marine-safe lubricant.
8. Reinstall the water pump housing, ensuring all gaskets and seals are seated properly. Torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
9. Reattach the lower unit to the engine, making sure the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
10. Refill the gearcase with the specified lubricant, reinstall the battery connection, and test the engine in the water, confirming a steady stream of water from the tell-tale port.
