- Ensure the engine is off and cool. Disconnect the battery for safety.
- Drain the engine oil and replace the oil filter (69J-13440-04-00), applying a light coat of new oil to the filter gasket.
- Refill the engine with the specified amount of new 10W-30 or 20W-40 oil. Replace the oil drain gasket (90430-14M09-00).
- Replace the on-engine fuel filter (6P3-WS24A-02-00) and the primary fuel water separating filter (MAR-10MEL-00-00).
- Remove and inspect the spark plugs. Install the new NGK LFR5A-11 plugs, torquing them to manufacturer specifications.
- Position a drain pan under the lower unit and remove both drain/fill screws. Allow the gear lube to drain completely.
- Using a gear lube pump, fill the lower unit from the bottom hole until fluid emerges from the top hole.
- Replace the lower unit drain gaskets (90430-08003-00) and reinstall both screws.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check all serviced areas for leaks. Verify oil level after a brief run time.
