Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and all electrical connections to the engine.
- Drain the engine coolant and oil completely.
- Remove the intake and exhaust manifolds, along with any other components attached to the cylinder head.
- Carefully loosen and remove the cylinder head bolts in the sequence recommended by the manufacturer.
- Lift the cylinder head off the engine block.
- Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of both the cylinder head and the engine block. Ensure they are free of old gasket material, carbon deposits, and oil.
- Position the new head gasket correctly on the engine block. Do not use any sealant unless specified.
- Carefully place the cylinder head back onto the block and gasket.
- Install and tighten the head bolts in the correct sequence and to the manufacturer's specified torque values. Apply oil to the threads as recommended.
- Reassemble all other components in the reverse order of removal.
- Refill the engine with fresh coolant and oil.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and carefully check for any leaks (coolant, oil, or exhaust).
