Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this bearing fits my engine?

The surest way is to match your original part's OEM number (0398874) with our listing. You can also use the Engine & Model Compatibility table to check your engine's HP, stroke, and year range.

What are the signs of a failing driveshaft bearing?

Common symptoms include a grinding or rumbling noise from the lower unit (especially when in gear), excessive vibration, or finding metal shavings in the gear oil during a change. A loose or rough-feeling driveshaft when turning by hand can also indicate a worn bearing.

When should this bearing be replaced?

Replace a driveshaft bearing whenever the lower unit is being serviced for other reasons (e.g., water pump replacement, resealing) or immediately if you notice signs of failure. There is no fixed interval; its lifespan depends on usage, maintenance, and operating conditions.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It's built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials and manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, with batch-inspections for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free, and expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

This part is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for items that are unused and in original condition. See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
