Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this bushing fits my engine?
This bushing is for specific MerCruiser sterndrives (120-260HP) from 1967–1982. The most reliable way to confirm fitment is to check your model and year against our compatibility table. Where available, matching the serial number (S/N) range is also recommended.
What are the signs of a failing trim ram bushing?
Symptoms of a worn bushing include excessive play or "clunking" sounds from the sterndrive when trimming up/down, during acceleration, or when shifting into gear. A visual inspection may reveal cracked, deformed, or missing rubber material.
Where is this bushing installed?
This bushing fits on the front anchor pin, which secures the lower end of the power trim cylinder to the transom assembly. It cushions the connection point between the ram and the boat.
How many bushings do I need for a complete replacement?
This part is sold individually. Most MerCruiser applications use two trim rams, each with a bushing at the top and bottom anchor pin. Some kits include four bushings total. Please inspect your specific setup to determine the exact quantity needed for your repair.
What’s the difference between this and the OEM part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part, not an OEM component. It is designed to meet or exceed original factory specifications for fit, material, and performance, offering a reliable and cost-effective alternative.
Can I install this myself?
Yes, this is a common DIY repair for those with mechanical experience and proper tools. However, it requires safely supporting the sterndrive. If you are unsure, we recommend professional installation.
How are OEM vs. Aftermarket parts different?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
What are your shipping speed & cost?
We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.
What is the warranty & return policy?
Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused a& in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
