It provides robust protection for your lower unit's skeg against damage from underwater impacts. Please note, this part is not compatible with XR Sport Master models.
Serves as a direct replacement for Mercury/MerCruiser 27051, SupremeMarine 1900, GlückMarine 27051, and Keelguard 254-27051.

Installation Notes
- Ensure you have at least 2-3 inches of the original skeg remaining for a secure fit.
- Clean the skeg area thoroughly, removing any marine growth or debris.
- Slide the skeg guard onto the lower unit, ensuring it is seated flush and fully.
- Use a marker to indicate the drilling locations through the holes in the skeg guard.
- Remove the guard and carefully drill through the marked spots using the included drill bit.
- Re-position the guard and insert the bolts (pre-applied with thread locker) through the holes.
- Fasten the nuts on the other side and tighten securely using the two included hex wrenches until snug. Do not overtighten.

Will this skeg guard fit my Bravo XR Sport Master drive?
No. This model is confirmed to be NOT compatible with Bravo XR Sport Master models.
How much of my original skeg do I need for installation?
A minimum of 2-3 inches of the original skeg must be remaining to ensure a secure and effective installation.
What is the purpose of the drain hole at the bottom?
The drain hole is a critical feature designed to prevent water from collecting inside the guard. This eliminates the risk of corrosion or damage caused by water freezing and expanding in cold climates.
Is drilling required for installation?
Yes, this is a bolt-on skeg guard. You will need to drill two holes through your existing skeg to mount it. A drill bit and all necessary mounting hardware are included in the package.
