Installation Notes
- Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil for easier draining.
- Position drain pans and carefully remove the gearcase drain/vent screws and engine oil drain plug.
- While fluids drain, remove the old oil filter and fuel filter.
- Clean the filter mounting surfaces. Lightly oil the new oil filter gasket before installation.
- Install the new oil filter and fuel filter, tightening to manufacturer specifications.
- Install new seals on the gearcase drain plugs. Fill the gearcase with lube from the bottom hole until it emerges from the top vent hole.
- Install the vent plug first, then the bottom drain plug.
- Refill the engine with the correct specification of marine engine oil (not included).
- Start the engine and check for any leaks around the filters and drain plugs.
- Stop the engine, wait a few minutes, re-check the oil level, and top off if needed.
