Installation Notes
- Gather all tools, ensure the engine is cool, and disconnect the battery. Position a drain pan under the lower unit.
- Remove the upper and lower drain screws from the gearcase to drain the gear lube. Inspect the magnetic drain plugs for metal shavings.
- Once drained, install the new lower unit drain gaskets and tighten the screws to the specified torque.
- Refill the gearcase with the new gear lube from the bottom hole until it flows out of the top hole. Reinstall the upper screw, then the lower one.
- Replace the engine oil filter and drain plug gasket, then change the engine oil.
- Replace the spark plugs, fuel filter, and fuel water separating filter.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check for any leaks. Verify oil levels and top off if necessary.
