This 14" Propeller Safety Guard is a protective cage designed for most 70-120 HP outboard motors using propellers up to 13.5 inches in diameter. It helps prevent injuries to swimmers and marine life while shielding the propeller from underwater impacts. Crafted from high-strength polypropylene plastic, it offers impact resistance comparable to stainless steel at a much lighter weight. This guard fits standard gearcase models from brands including Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, and Johnson/Evinrude where the propeller shaft to cavitation plate dimension (H) is between 6.5" and 7.5".
This is a standard safety accessory and does not have a direct OEM equivalent part number for cross-reference.

Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off and the battery is disconnected for safety.
- Position the propeller guard over the lower unit, ensuring it is centered around the propeller.
- Confirm the guard doesn't interfere with the propeller's rotation. There should be adequate clearance.
- Check that the height (H) from the center of the propeller shaft to the underside of the cavitation plate is within the 6.5"–7.5" range.
- Carefully mark the drilling locations on the cavitation plate and skeg.
- Use the included 1/3" drill bit to drill the marked holes.
- Secure the upper part of the guard to the cavitation plate using the provided short bolts.
- Secure the lower part of the guard to the skeg using the long bolts.
- Tighten all hardware securely. Professional installation is recommended.

What is the most important measurement for ensuring fitment?
The most critical dimension is the height (H) from the center of the propeller shaft to the underside of the cavitation plate. For this 14" guard, it must be between 6.5 inches and 7.5 inches. Also, ensure your propeller's diameter is 13.5 inches or less.
Will this guard fit my Mercury Big Foot or Yamaha High Thrust motor?
No. This guard is only for standard gearcases. Big Foot, High Thrust, and Command Thrust models have larger gearcases and require a 16" propeller guard. Please verify your motor type before ordering.
Will this fit my Evinrude E-TEC model?
No. Most Evinrude E-TEC outboards require a larger 16" propeller guard due to the gearcase design. This 14" model is not compatible.
What is the maximum speed this guard is rated for?
The manufacturer does not recommend or warrant use above 25 mph. High speeds can put excessive stress on the guard and motor, potentially leading to damage or failure.
