Installation Notes

Locate the hydraulic steering oil filter on your Axius system.
Place a suitable container or absorbent rags below the filter to catch any spills.
Using a filter wrench, carefully unscrew and remove the old filter.
Clean the filter mounting base, ensuring the sealing surface is free of old gasket material and debris.
Apply a light film of new hydraulic steering fluid to the gasket of the new filter.
Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket makes contact with the base, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn. Do not overtighten.
Check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir and top off as needed with the manufacturer-specified fluid.
Start the engine, turn the helm wheel lock-to-lock several times to bleed any air, and carefully inspect the filter for leaks.
Re-check the fluid level and add more if necessary.
