Troubleshooting & FAQ

How can I confirm this carburetor fits my engine?

The best way is to compare your original part number to the ones listed in our "Part Number Matrix." Also, check your engine model and year against our "Engine & Model Compatibility" tables. If the numbers and models match, it will fit.

What are common signs of a failing carburetor?

Symptoms include difficulty starting, rough idling, stalling, poor acceleration, black smoke from the exhaust (running rich), or fuel leaks. If your engine exhibits these issues, a worn or clogged carburetor is a likely cause.

Is any adjustment needed after installation?

This carburetor is pre-adjusted to factory settings, but minor idle speed or air/fuel mixture adjustments may be necessary depending on your specific engine's condition, altitude, and temperature. We recommend following your engine’s service manual.

Can I clean my old carburetor instead of replacing it?

Cleaning can sometimes resolve issues caused by dirt or old fuel deposits. However, internal components like gaskets, seals, and jets can wear out over time, leading to performance issues that cleaning alone cannot fix. Replacement ensures all components are new.

What is the difference between the 'MF/EF' and 'EP/EPT' versions?

These designations refer to different Tohatsu/Nissan model types: MF (Manual Start, Tiller Handle), EF (Electric Start, Tiller Handle), EP (Electric Start, Remote Control), and EPT (Electric Start, Power Trim/Tilt, Remote Control). This carburetor is designed to fit the specific part numbers associated with those versions as detailed in the compatibility tables.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
