  2. Remove the engine cowling and air silencer cover to access the carburetors.
  3. Carefully disconnect the throttle linkage and any other connections from the carburetor.
  4. Remove the mounting bolts and take the carburetor off the engine.
  5. Disassemble the carburetor, cleaning all metal parts with a suitable carburetor cleaner. Do not use cleaner on rubber or plastic parts.
  6. Carefully replace the old gaskets, seals, float, needle valve, and other components with the new parts from the kit.
  7. Reassemble the carburetor, ensuring all parts are correctly seated. Do not overtighten screws.
  8. Reinstall the carburetor onto the engine and reconnect all linkages and lines.
  9. Consult your service manual for procedures on synchronizing carburetors and adjusting idle speed.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this kit fits my specific engine?

Your primary check is the Compatibility Table in this listing. Match your engine's model, horsepower, and year range. If any details conflict, or if you are unsure, contact us with your engine's full model and serial number before purchasing.

What are the signs of a failing carburetor that this kit can fix?

Common symptoms include difficulty starting, rough idling, stalling, poor acceleration, hesitation, or black smoke from the exhaust. This kit replaces the most common wear items that cause these issues.

Is this kit for a single carburetor or a full set?

This kit contains the parts to rebuild one (1) carburetor. Since most Yamaha V4 and V6 engines have multiple carburetors, you will need to purchase one kit for each carburetor you intend to service.

How often should a carburetor be rebuilt?

There is no fixed interval. It depends on fuel quality, usage hours, and storage conditions (especially with ethanol-blended fuels). A rebuild is typically done when performance issues arise, or as preventative maintenance every few seasons.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
