Installation Notes
- For safety, disconnect the battery and shift the outboard/sterndrive into neutral gear.
- Remove the propeller's cotter pin and/or straighten the locking tab washer away from the nut.
- Place the wrench over the propeller nut, ensuring a secure fit.
- Turn the wrench counter-clockwise to loosen and remove the nut. A block of wood between the anti-cavitation plate and a propeller blade can help prevent rotation.
- To install, clean and grease the propeller shaft, slide the propeller on, and hand-tighten the nut.
- Use the wrench to tighten the nut to the manufacturer's specified torque. Do not overtighten.
- Bend one of the tabs of the lock washer into the groove on the thrust washer or install a new cotter pin.
