Installation Notes

1. Turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, and ensure the workspace is well-ventilated.
2. Locate the primary fuel filter housing assembly on your Yamaha HPDI engine.
3. Place a suitable container or absorbent rags under the filter to catch any fuel spillage.
4. Carefully unscrew the filter cup from the housing. Be prepared for some residual fuel to drain out.
5. Remove the old filter element. Note its orientation and the placement of any O-rings or seals.
6. Clean the interior of the filter cup and housing with a lint-free cloth.
7. Install the new filter element, making sure it is seated correctly in the housing.
8. Re-install the filter cup, ensuring seals are properly seated. Hand-tighten securely, then give it a final quarter-turn with a wrench if specified by the manufacturer. Do not overtighten.
9. Reconnect the battery.
10. Prime the fuel system using the primer bulb until it feels firm.
11. Start the engine and carefully check the filter housing for any signs of leaks.
