Installation Notes
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool completely. Close the vessel's fuel supply valve.
- Place an approved container or absorbent rags below the existing filter to safely manage fuel spillage.
- Carefully disconnect the IN and OUT fuel lines from the old filter housing.
- Remove the old filter bracket and assembly from its mounting location.
- Select a suitable location and securely mount the new filter bracket. Ensure the housing is vertical and accessible for future servicing.
- Verify the direction of fuel flow (often marked with an arrow on the filter head) is pointed towards the engine.
- Lightly lubricate the new filter's rubber gasket with clean engine oil before installation.
- Spin the new filter element onto the filter head until the gasket makes contact, then hand-tighten an additional 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Do not overtighten.
- Reconnect the fuel lines to the appropriate IN and OUT ports on the filter head using thread sealant rated for gasoline.
