Installation Notes

Ensure the engine is completely cool. For safety, disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Clean any dirt and debris from around the base of the spark plug to prevent it from falling into the cylinder.
Carefully remove the spark plug boot, pulling it straight off the plug. Do not pull on the wire itself.
Using a spark plug socket and extension, turn the wrench counter-clockwise to loosen and remove the old spark plug.
Confirm the gap of the new plug. This NGK CR9EB plug comes pre-gapped to 0.8mm (0.032"). Adjust only if necessary.
Thread the new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to prevent cross-threading. It should turn in easily.
Once finger-tight, use a torque wrench to tighten the plug to the manufacturer's recommended specification.
Re-attach the spark plug boot, ensuring it clicks firmly into place. Reconnect the battery terminal.
