Installation Notes

Ensure the engine is off and cool. Place a drip pan under the old filter to catch spilled oil.
Using an appropriate filter wrench, turn the old filter counter-clockwise to loosen and remove it.
Wipe the engine's filter mounting surface clean with a lint-free rag. Ensure the old gasket is not stuck to the engine.
Lightly lubricate the gasket of the new filter with a thin layer of clean engine oil.
Carefully screw the new filter onto the mounting stud by hand. Turn it clockwise until the gasket makes firm contact with the mounting surface.
Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn by hand. Do not use a wrench, as this can cause damage.
After installation, run the engine for a few minutes and carefully inspect for any leaks around the filter.
Turn off the engine, wait for the oil to settle, and re-check the engine oil level, topping up if necessary.
