Installation Notes

  1. Carefully remove the old oil seal from its housing, taking care not to scratch the surrounding metal surfaces.
  2. Thoroughly clean the seal housing area to remove any old sealant, oil, or debris.
  3. Lightly lubricate the outer edge of the new oil seal with a thin layer of marine grease.
  4. Position the new seal squarely over the housing and use a suitable driver or socket to press it in evenly until it is fully seated.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if my oil seal is failing?

Common signs of a bad oil seal include visible oil leaks around the propeller shaft or lower unit, a milky or emulsified appearance in the lower unit gear lube (indicating water intrusion), or a persistent burning oil smell.

Can I install this seal on a model not listed here?

We only guarantee fitment for the models and years listed in the compatibility table. Using it on other models is not recommended, as even minor differences in size or material can lead to leaks or premature failure.

What is the recommended replacement interval for this seal?

It is best practice to replace lower unit oil seals whenever the lower unit is serviced or disassembled for other repairs (like a water pump replacement). Otherwise, inspect for leaks annually and replace as needed.

Is any special tool required for installation?

A seal driver or a socket of the correct diameter is highly recommended to ensure the seal is pressed in evenly without damaging it. Avoid using a hammer directly on the seal.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
