Installation Notes

  1. Ensure the engine is off and disconnected from the power source and fuel line.
  2. Remove the engine cover, flywheel, and any other components obstructing access to the lower crankshaft seal.
  3. Carefully pry the old seal out using a seal puller or flat-head screwdriver, taking care not to scratch the crankshaft or housing.
  4. Thoroughly clean the seal housing area, removing any old sealant, dirt, or corrosion.
  5. Lightly lubricate the inner lip of the new seal with fresh engine oil.
  6. Position the new seal squarely over the housing opening.
  7. Gently and evenly press the new seal into place using a seal driver or a socket with an outer diameter matching the seal's metal case.
  8. Reassemble all components in the reverse order of removal.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this seal will fit my engine?

The best way is to verify your engine's model, horsepower, and year against the compatibility tables provided above. Cross-referencing your old part number with the ones listed in the Part Number Matrix is also a reliable method.

What are the signs of a failing crankshaft oil seal?

The most common symptom is an oil leak from the area where the crankshaft exits the engine block. You may also notice a drop in oil level, oil residue in the cowling, or, in severe cases, a loss of engine performance.

What is the difference between Suzuki part 09283-10009 and 09283-10L01?

Part number 09283-10L01 is the newer, official supersession for 09283-10009. They are dimensionally and functionally identical, making them fully interchangeable for all listed applications.

What does "TCB" fitting type mean?

TCB refers to a Double Lip Radial Seal design. It features a primary sealing lip and a secondary, auxiliary dust lip, providing enhanced protection against external contaminants like dirt and water compared to single-lip seals.

Is a special tool required for installation?

While not strictly necessary, using a seal puller for removal and a dedicated seal driver (or a socket of the correct size) for installation is highly recommended. These tools help prevent damage to the new seal and the engine housing during installation.

Can I reuse my old oil seal?

No. Oil seals are considered single-use components. The removal process almost always damages them, and the sealing lip loses its effectiveness over time. Always install a new seal to ensure a leak-free repair.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
