Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if my thermostat has failed?

Common signs of a failed thermostat include engine overheating, running too cold (not reaching operating temperature), erratic temperature gauge readings, and poor engine performance.

What temperature does this thermostat operate at?

This thermostat is rated to open at 143°F (62°C) to allow coolant to circulate and maintain optimal engine temperature.

Is this a single or dual-thermostat kit?

This is a complete kit containing two thermostats and two gaskets, as required for a full replacement on the specified V6 engines.

How often should I replace my outboard thermostat?

Thermostats should be inspected regularly and replaced every 1-2 years as part of preventative maintenance, or immediately if you notice signs of failure. This is especially critical for engines operated in saltwater.

What is the difference between OEM and aftermarket parts?

This listing is for an aftermarket replacement, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part. It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials and is manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, with batch inspections for consistency.

How fast is shipping and what does it cost?

We ship worldwide quickly, with a typical transit time of 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free for most orders, and expedited options will appear at checkout if they are available for your location.

What is the warranty and return policy?

Our parts are covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If you encounter an issue, please contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for items that are unused and in their original condition. See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images and specifications against your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement component, not an OEM part.
