Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if my reverse light switch is failing?
Common signs include reverse lights that do not turn on when the vehicle is in reverse, or lights that stay on continuously. An intermittent connection can also cause flickering lights as the gear shifter is moved.
Where is this switch located on my vehicle?
The reverse light switch is almost always located on the exterior of the transmission or transaxle housing. You will need to safely raise the vehicle to access it from underneath.
Can I use this part if my vehicle is not on the compatibility list?
We strongly recommend against it. To guarantee proper fitment, electrical function, and safety, you should only purchase this part if your specific model and year range are listed in our compatibility table.
What is a "Circuit N.C." technical designation?
"N.C." stands for "Normally Closed," which describes the electrical state of the switch. In a normally closed circuit, electrical current flows through the switch by default and is interrupted when the switch is activated (i.e., when the vehicle is put into reverse).
What are the most common causes of switch failure?
Failure typically results from internal mechanical wear of the contacts, corrosion from moisture exposure, a faulty internal spring mechanism, or damage to the external electrical pins or plastic housing.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
