  7. Re-secure the housing cover, tightening bolts evenly to the manufacturer's specified torque.
  8. Refill the cooling system with the appropriate coolant.
  9. Start the engine, check for leaks around the housing as it warms up, and top off coolant if necessary.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this thermostat fits my engine?

Check the "Engine & Model Compatibility" section on this page. Compare your engine model, series, and year against the provided tables. It is also crucial to verify part numbers listed in the "Part Number Matrix" with your existing part number.

What are the signs of a failing thermostat?

Common symptoms include engine overheating (if stuck closed) or taking too long to reach operating temperature (if stuck open). You may also notice erratic temperature gauge readings or poor engine performance.

What temperature does this thermostat operate at?

This is a 60°C (140°F) thermostat, designed specifically for raw water cooled marine engines to ensure they operate in their optimal temperature range for performance and longevity.

How often should I replace my engine's thermostat?

While there is no fixed interval, it is good practice to inspect the thermostat during routine cooling system service or replace it every few years as preventative maintenance, especially for boats operated in saltwater.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
