Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the vessel's battery to prevent electrical hazards.
2. Access the power trim and tilt unit. Depending on the boat, this may require lifting the engine.
3. Carefully relieve any hydraulic pressure in the system according to the manufacturer's service manual.
4. Using the correct tools, unscrew the trim cylinder end cap where the seal is housed.
5. Gently remove the old seal from the cap, taking care not to scratch the metal surfaces. Note its orientation.
6. Thoroughly clean the end cap and the seal groove, removing any debris or old fluid.
7. Lightly lubricate the new seal with fresh power trim/tilt fluid before seating it firmly in the groove.
8. Reinstall the end cap, torquing it to the manufacturer's specification.
9. Reconnect the battery, top off the hydraulic fluid, and perform a bleed procedure to remove air from the system.
