Screw the flush plug into the port and tighten by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
Connect a standard garden hose to the plug's fitting.
Turn the water supply on fully. Check for significant leaks around the plug.
Start the engine and run it at idle speed only. Never exceed idle speed.
Observe the engine's water pump tell-tale to confirm water is circulating.
Flush the engine for 5 to 10 minutes to remove salt and debris.
Turn the engine OFF first.
Turn the water supply off.
Disconnect the hose and remove the flush plug. Replace the port cover.
