Installation Notes

Disconnect the engine's battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) by unfastening its mounting bolts.
Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover to expose the impeller.
Remove the old impeller, taking note of the rotational direction of its vanes.
Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate for scoring or damage.
Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft in its normal rotational direction (usually clockwise) to help bend the vanes correctly as it enters the housing.
Reassemble the pump housing, ensuring gaskets are correctly seated, and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
Reinstall the lower unit, making sure the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are properly aligned.
