Installation Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting work.

- Remove the old impeller, gaskets, and wear plate, then clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Install the new drive key onto the driveshaft.
- Place the new gasket and wear plate onto the gearcase.
- Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft while turning the shaft clockwise to bed the blades correctly within the housing.
- Apply a thin layer of marine grease to the inside of the housing cup and reinstall it, torquing the bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
- Reinstall the lower unit, refill the gearcase with fresh oil, and reconnect the battery.
- Before launching, test the engine using a flush attachment ("muffs") to ensure water is pumping correctly from the tell-tale outlet.
