Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
- Shift the outboard into neutral. Drain the gearcase oil.
- Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper driveshaft housing.
- Carefully lower the gearcase to expose the water pump housing.
- Unbolt and remove the water pump housing cover.
- Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, noting the keyway alignment.
- Clean the housing and inspect it for wear, replacing if necessary.
- Install the new impeller, aligning its keyway with the driveshaft's key. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise to help seat the blades.
- Reassemble the water pump housing, gearcase, and all components in reverse order.
- Refill the gearcase with fresh oil. Test the engine in water to confirm correct cooling system operation.
