Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the engine cover. Disconnect the shift linkage.
Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the bolts securing it to the engine leg.
Carefully lower the gearcase assembly to access the water pump.
Remove the old water pump housing bolts, lift the housing, and slide the old impeller off the driveshaft.
Thoroughly clean the driveshaft and all mating surfaces, removing any old gasket residue.
Slide the new impeller key and impeller onto the shaft. Install the new wear plate and gaskets.
Lubricate the inside of the new housing and the impeller with marine grease, then install the housing.
Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
Secure the lower unit bolts, reconnect the shift linkage, and reattach the battery cable.
Start the engine in water and confirm a steady stream from the cooling system's tell-tale outlet.
